Buddhism has deep roots in Varanasi and Bihar, India. Varanasi, known as Sarnath in Buddhist texts, marks the site where Buddha delivered his first sermon after enlightenment, emphasizing the Four Noble Truths and Eightfold Path .

Sarnath’s Dhamek Stupa and ancient monastic ruins draw pilgrims and scholars alike seeking spiritual wisdom. In Bihar, Bodhgaya stands as the pinnacle of Buddhist pilgrimage, where Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. Nearby Nalanda was a renowned center of Buddhist learning, while Rajgir hosted important discourses by Buddha. Together, these sites in Varanasi and Bihar preserve and propagate the profound teachings of Buddhism globally.
